Since 2006, Lee and Deb Gehrke have been housemasters at Quincy House, home to 460 of Harvard’s sophomores, juniors, and seniors. They live in the penthouse of the New Quincy building, which has a superb view of Boston and Cambridge. Harvard housemasters are tenured faculty who assume overall day-to-day responsibility for the House, and whose primary function is to enhance the intellectual and social lives of the residence through programming that takes place in the house.
Quincy House has a staff of twenty-two resident tutors, who are usually graduate students, and who live on entryways among the undergraduate students. The Old Quincy building pictured at the right, will be renovated during the 2012-2013 academic year.
